Digital installations with no fixed floor plan, which change because you are standing in them

Landmark Tokyo, Azabudai and Toyosu€€€

Rooms where the projection responds to movement, so no two visits are the same

A collective of programmers, artists and mathematicians has spent fifteen years building rooms in which projected work reacts to the people inside it, with no repeating loop and no map: you find the rooms by wandering, and the work you saw does not exist in that form again.

It is the most copied format in contemporary exhibition-making and the original remains substantially better than the imitations, largely because the software is genuinely generative rather than a video on a wall.
