How long do you actually need?
Museum Time
Tell us how you look at art and which museums you want. We give you honest hours, in the order that works.
Museum fatigue is real and sets in after about ninety minutes of concentrated looking, whatever you tell yourself in the ticket queue. This tool takes your museums, your pace and your tolerance for standing, and produces a schedule that includes the queue, the walk and a sit-down.
It will tell you when you have picked too much. Most people do.
Questions
What is a realistic pace?
A thorough visitor spends about two hours in a major museum and sees perhaps a fifth of it. A sprinter does forty-five minutes and sees the six famous things. Both are legitimate.
Does it include queueing?
Yes, using the typical queue for each museum at the time of day you choose, which is why the same plan gets shorter if you start at nine.
