A sawtooth roof on travertine stilts, holding the largest private contemporary collection in Latin America
The top-floor gallery, lit entirely by the north-facing sawtooth
The Jumex juice fortune funded a contemporary collection of about three thousand works, and David Chipperfield built it a home in 2013: a travertine block raised on columns with a sawtooth roof pulling north light into the upper gallery. It is one of the best-lit exhibition spaces anywhere.
The programme mixes the collection with substantial international loan exhibitions, at a ticket price of a few euros, which is roughly a tenth of what the same show would cost in New York.
