Sneaky Pete's
A hundred capacity room in the Cowgate that books above its size every single night
Seven nights a week of live music and club nights in a room the size of a flat
A hundred people fit in Sneaky Pete's and it programmes something every night of the week, which over the years has meant a lot of bands playing their only Scottish show of a tour in front of a hundred people. In August it runs as a fringe venue during the day and a club at night, which is a punishing schedule for a room with one door.
It is the smallest venue in this guide and one of the most consistently good, because the booking is done by people who go to gigs.
