Open since 1937 with the slogan that whoever does not know Los Ángeles does not know Mexico, this is a working dance hall rather than a nightclub: a big wooden floor, a live orchestra on a raised stage, tables around the edge and several generations of dancers who have been coming for decades.
Danzón on Tuesdays, salsa and mambo on Sundays. Visitors are welcome and nobody minds a beginner, but the floor belongs to people who know what they are doing.
